I was making a self portrait a couple of days ago for a challenge on the Arcanum and thought it would be fun to have a play. I have seen images where peoples faces have been reflected about the centre to show how different each side of your face can look. The results were quite fun and I suspect the lighting may have affected the appearance a little as well. So these are me, reflecting each side of my face.
And the original…
A few abstract shots from the Saturday.
I had a busy day yesterday taking part in my first Rogaine, a 6 or 12 hour event with hundreds of competitors. I took part in the 6 hour event which was great fun – the good weather definitely helping! I dragged my camera round with my 20mm lens just for fun, taking a few images on the move as we didn’t stop. Some lovely scenery and a great chance to get places I wouldn’t normally see. Thanks to the organisers and farmers who allowed us access to their land.
No colour, just waves and mist in motion.
I often make abstracts at the beach by moving the camera, these images however are abstract with only the sea and mist moving.
There is a trend just now for very saturated images, one that I succumb to now and then as well; sometimes however those are just too noisy and I prefer something a bit more subtle.
More colours at dawn, I tried lots of different shutters speeds sometimes intentionally and sometimes just because the light was changing a lot. This is a slightly shorter exposure than most at 1/20s.
