More old buildings…
There were lots of interesting old buildings, tools and implements at Terrace Station. I liked the look they got from monochrome processing with Nik Silver Efex Pro and I’ll share some over the next few days.

This was taken while the sun was out and there were string contrasts. The colour version was taken just before the monochrome version and gives an idea of the whole building.
We had an interesting trip today with the Kaiapoi Photographic Club to Terrace Station, a beautiful preserved homestead with woodshed and other farm buildings. The gardens are lovely as well! We arrived to blue skies and bright sun but the clouds came over as we ate lunch which made photography a little easier. There was far too much to see and photographic for a single trip and the hoe stead is well worth a visit on one of its open days through the year.

Last weekend I arranged to do a photo shoot (TFP – time for pictures) with a lovely model Sarah; something I haven’t tried for ages. It was great fun and working outdoors with a mix of natural light and flash was challenging. At least it wasn’t windy. I tried various combinations trying to make use of the Autumn colours in Hagley Park. Definitely something I need more practise with – weather permitting.
