A great rock arch in the cliffs at Magnet Bay.
Yesterday the MV Tuhoe, a Kaiapoi landmark ran aground on its way back to its berth on the Kaiapoi River. It had been away for repairs in Lyttleton, unfortunately it looks like the 96 year old vessel is unsalvageable and will likely be broken up over the next few days. A steady stream of traffic has been going up and down the road to see the ship as it lies stranded on the sand bank at the mouth of the river and I suspect more people have visited it over the last day than have done for many years. There were TV camera crews and drones as well.
