Crusaders v Chiefs

I wasn’t sitting as close to the action on Saturday as sometimes and I didn’t take too many images, but a few anyway. They did check to see that my lens wasn’t more than 200mm though which is new – and madness given the abilities of compact cameras with small sensors and long zooms!

Coast to Coast Cyclists

I went for a bike ride yesterday to get some images of the competitors doing the Coast to Coast race, an amazing annual race from the West Coast to the East Coast of the South Island. I took some of images of the final bike leg heading into Christchurch. These were all doing the two day event but there were others doing the race in a single “Longest Day”, the winner completed in just under 11 1/2 hours, quite amazing. I was almost inspired to put my name down for next year, except I don’t Kayak! Well done to all this year’s competitors.

Quizzical Carter

We went to the last normal season rugby game last night, Crusaders v Highlanders. An entertaining game and relatively warm, the full house was treated to a good win from the local Crusaders team. All ready for the semi-finals now! We were sitting in a different part of the ground from our normal, close the try line at the end of the pitch under the big screen, I took lots of images. This is a quick shot taken before the game started, Dan Carter with one of the coaches, I’m not sure what was being said though.
